Guide to perfect immigration
Immigrating to another country is not a decision to be taken lightly and a guide to perfect immigration is definitely needed. Immigration to Australia
In 1945 Australia had a population of 7 million of which 90% had been born in Australia. Today the population stand at approximately 19 million of which 60% were either born outside Australia or had at least one parent who was born outside the country. This makes Australia truly a country of immigrants.
If you want to immigrate to Australia permanently there are two programs you need to familiarize yourself with. The one is a Migration Program that consists of:
- A skill migration program which consists of a number of categories for people that have specific occupation skills, exceptional talents or business skills.
- A family migration stream is designed for people who have a relative that is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Special eligibility migrants who are for people who are former citizens or residents of Australia who want to return or certain New Zealanders.
The second is the Humanitarian Program which is designed for refugees and those in special humanitarian need. The Offshore Resettlement program is a major component of the Humanitarian Program and assists people in humanitarian need overseas for whom resettlement in another country is the only option. The Onshore Protection Program also forms part of the Humanitarian program and is focused towards people who have arrived in Australia on a temporary Visa or in an unauthorized manner, and claims Australia’s protection.
