New immigration law proposed in Canada
Back to News
On March 30, the Conservative government of Canada proposed immigration changes that would tell hopeful immigrants that they can’t apply. This proposed law will give the immigration minister lots of power in deciding which applications should be processed quickly and whether some of the applications should not be processed at all. The downfall is that these change prevent the department from processing the applications of people who would be accepted under the current point system in Canada, but do not possess specific skills.
Set number of people to immigrate to Canada
The immigration minister of Canada would also be able to set the number of applications to be processed (by category) in any given year) and some immigrants with skills in demand may be moved to the front of the line.
How long does it take to get your application processed?
According to the statistics on Immigration Canada’s website, 50% of all applications from skilled workers are processed within 36 months. Read more about the immigration process to Canada now!
